I'm a Little Teary Eyed

Today is the twentieth aniversary of Reagan's powerful "Mr. Gorbechev, Tear Down This Wall" speech at the Brandenberg Gate.

Read the text of it here. I shall let President Reagan's remarks speak for themself.

Pink,

Get a grip on yourself. I voted for Reagan twice and recall the day he was shot by Hinkley. We all hoped for his safety and recovery. He accomplished much but was not a saint - especially in the early days of the AIDS crisis.

Today's GOP is making him into something he never was while in office. I suspect he'd have plenty of complaints as to what has been done to piss away his legacy. He certainly was not intolerant and anti-knowledge like his current successor.

BTW, were you born yet when Reagan was in office?
